Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason And Emily.
Hi Jason and Emily, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hello!
We are folk musicians, Jason Brown and Emily Potter, a guitar and piano duo living in Nottingham, outside of Baltimore. We came together in March 2020 when we fell in love and Emily moved from Utah to create a life with Jason and his two children in Maryland.
During our beginning months as a new couple, Jason and I began to define the musical dream we wanted to build together. Before we met, we both had experience performing in bars, restaurants, festivals and for private events. We realized, however, that although providing music as entertainment was enjoyable, we wanted to expand the dream to specifically serve fellow truth-seekers who know there is more to life than paying bills and conforming to societal expectations.
This is where we began to find our greatest purpose and fulfillment as musicians. We now tour different part of the country playing intimate house concerts where we have the opportunity to personally connect with every audience member before and after the performance. We just recently returned from an exciting 7 week USA tour from June 16-July 30, 2026 from Maryland to Wyoming and back! This life-changing experience is what we want to focus on in this interview.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
After years of Emily being partially housebound from chronic illness, feeling desperately lonely and financially destitute, this rewarding tour has been a liberating dream come true. We are both feeling healthy, purposeful, and aligned with the most authentic versions of ourselves. Experiencing the open road, the generosity of good people, and the fulfillment of living with purpose is truly the best of what life has to offer. Emily got her health back using Medical Medium© protocols, which in an unexpected way became the way this tour became possible. Almost everyone of the 200+ people who attended our performances nationwide was someone who also healed chronic illness using Medical Medium© tools. These musical events were a celebration full of music, good food, and the joy of enjoying our lives again.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Our work as musicians is not focused on selling or promoting our music. We are using a different kind of model. We offer a one hour performance specifically crafted to create an environment of empowering and celebrating our audiences through the interweaving of original music and storytelling. This model may seem counterintuitive as we aren’t pushing our newest album, or encouraging people to follow us on social media.
From the Medical Medium community, we gathered 17 sponsors before we even hit the road, all individuals who align with our message. At the events, we put up a banner featuring our sponsors’ logos right next to a donation vessel placed on a decorated merch table. This is what fully covered the expenses of the tour. Audiences shared feedback that they loved our soulful, sincere way of being. We performed in 10 locations from Maryland to Utah, New Mexico to North Carolina. Some people even drove 5-6 hours to attend! Along the route, it was incredibly easy to create true friendships in every location we visited.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The most significant success of this tour was the opportunity to bring awareness to The Patron Project nationwide, an endeavor I founded in June 2023 once I started getting my health back. In lieu of a ticket sale, audience members signed up as a $1, $5 or $20 patron for the Patron Project’s struggling chronically ill receivers. We feel so honored to be a part of this work. Learn more about this cause on our website.
