Rising Stars: Meet Megan Biederman of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Biederman.

Hi Megan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I fell in love with the beauty industry when I started working in a salon and spa in 2015, it wasn’t until 2017 when I began taking makeup clients for special occasions such as dances and parties. From there I worked my way through pageants, hosting classes at the salon, and landed myself in the bridal world! Being a makeup artist in the bridal industry is such a fun and sentimental place to be. Every bride has their own story, their own idea of a perfect wedding day, you’re joining in on all the love, and I specifically get to play a major role in making them feel their absolute best! Although the majority of my work now is for brides, I truly love the moments I get to branch out and experience different outlets as an artist. I love evolving and creating!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a makeup artist, the road has never been linear. Trends have changed hundreds of times since I began in 2015, which means that my own technique has had to stay up to par and grow with the changes. You have to stay on top of educating yourself, networking, practicing, and maintaining relevancy within the community.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a makeup artist who specializes in bridal occasion makeup. I have created within the bridal community more than I have outside of it, so I would say this is what I’m known for! I am most proud of how long I’ve been an artist for. I have had many moments where I’ve second guessed myself and my abilities, or compared my work to others, but I have never truly given up and always come right back to the beauty industry more intrigued to grow and learn! What sets me apart from others is that I am more tailored to soft or natural glam, which has been the trend for past few years, but all artist are creatives in their own way and have the best differences!

How do you define success?
Success is about growth and your dedication to growing — becoming a better artist than you were the year before! If you are willing to learn and evolve, you are succeeding/on the path to success!
