Today we’d like to introduce you to Deemetrick Green.
Hi Deemetrick, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Deemetrick Green, but the world knows me as MoneyMakkinMeech. Music has never been just entertainment to me—it’s been my voice, my therapy, and my way of leaving something behind that can’t be erased. Every song I create is a chapter of my life, every verse is a piece of my truth, and every beat carries a part of my journey.
My love for music started long before I ever stepped into a studio. One of my earliest memories takes me back to spending the night at my aunt’s house. My uncle lived in the basement, and it seemed like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony played around the clock. At that age, I couldn’t relate to everything they were saying, but I was fascinated by the way they rapped. Their harmonies, speed, and unique flow captured my imagination. Without realizing it, that was the moment music found me.
As I got older, I began searching for my own identity as an artist. I didn’t want to sound like everyone else—I wanted people to know when they heard my voice that it was MoneyMakkinMeech. Finding my own sound became one of the biggest moments of my career. The day I realized I had developed a flow and style that couldn’t be duplicated was the day I truly believed I belonged in hip-hop. That confidence became the foundation of everything I’ve created since.
One of the songs I’m most proud of is “Love Poetry.” It isn’t my biggest record, but it represents me better than almost any other song I’ve made. It showcases my versatility and proves I can write beyond the stereotypes people often place on rappers. To me, it’s an overlooked masterpiece because it displays my songwriting ability and emotional depth in a way many listeners haven’t fully appreciated.
When people ask me about my biggest musical influences, three albums immediately come to mind. 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is at the top because 50 Cent has always been my favorite rapper. That album isn’t just full of classic records—it carries memories from different stages of my life. Every song reminds me of where I was when I first heard it and how it shaped my mindset.
Another album that inspired me is Kodak Black’s Institution. Kodak’s honesty and relatability make his music feel authentic. He speaks from experience, and that authenticity is something I’ve always admired and tried to bring into my own music.
The third album is my own project, Poetic Gangsta. I believe it’s one of the most overlooked projects I’ve ever created. It represents the artist I worked hard to become—someone who can combine street reality with lyricism, emotion, and storytelling.
My dream doesn’t stop with making music. Like every artist, I have goals that keep me motivated. The biggest one is earning the opportunity to be signed by 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records or Eminem’s Shady/Aftermath family of labels. Those are artists I’ve respected for years, and joining one of those legendary camps would represent the ultimate recognition of everything I’ve worked toward.
My journey hasn’t been about chasing fame. It’s been about creating something lasting. I want my music to connect with people who understand struggle, ambition, loyalty, and perseverance. I want listeners to hear my songs and realize they’re not alone in whatever they’re facing.
I’m still writing my story. Every song is another page, every project is another chapter, and every obstacle is another lesson. No matter where this road takes me, one thing will never change—I’ll continue creating music that reflects who I am.
Because at the end of the day, I’m not trying to be the next anybody.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey been bittersweet. Some ups & downs like dealing with real life situations, relationships & responsibilities. Losing confidence & gaining confidence. For the most part, I love the grind & the art so I push even harder .

We are our own people! It’s nothing like a Baltimorean . It takes a strong individual to come up in the city .. if you can survive here , u can survive anywhere

We don’t support each other.
