Life & Work with Hope Wasserman of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hope Wasserman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Day to Day Fitness in January 2020. My goal for Day to Day Fitness is to help your everyday person to truly enjoy fitness and reach their goals. These days everyone is on the run and by bringing the gym to their homes I am saving my clients time and energy. Growing up I was a year round athlete, between rugby, swimming, and soccer. I am a purple belt in Brazilian jiujitsu. By 13 years old I was lifting weights and falling in love with health and fitness, and as time went I knew I wanted to enter the health and fitness workforce. Helping others and showing them how to live a healthy and happy life is my passion. Each year I do continuing education courses to deepen my knowledge to better help my clients in their fitness goals. Most recently I have been working on my Yoga teacher certification to add to my repertoire!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a new business is always full of obstacles and challenges. One challenge I faced was balancing my social strength of working with others and the business side of the house. With business and financial guidance from my trusted sources I am able to plan successfully and better anticipate what Day to Day Fitness needs to thrive. Another challenge I experienced was during COVID when I struggled getting new clients due to restrictions and the unknown of the future. That experience has allowed me to incorporate even more flexibility options for a wide array of clients who may have health needs or restrictions.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m specialized in women’s health and fitness, corrective exercise, and nutrition through NASM. I help people look at fitness through a different lense. Instead of wanting to get fit to look good, you get fit to live the longest life you can, to be able to do everything you want to when you retire. What sets me apart is my encouraging and positive attitude, knowing everyone starts at their own levels and working from there to get them to their goals. My prices are fair and affordable with the hope to start and maintain on my clients on going health journey.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is when people get into the routine of working out and start feeling progress. A lot of people don’t understand how consistent fitness can help improve your physical AND mental health, so helping people realize that is so exciting. Working in people’s homes can be a very personal experience, getting to know families and individuals closely is one of the best parts about my job. My husband and 2 Rottweilers bring me happiness at home!
