Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in the beautiful twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. Growing up there shaped who I am, my culture, resilience, creativity, and deep love for people. By the time I turned 18, I wanted to explore opportunities beyond what I could see in front of me. So, I took a leap of faith and moved to Washington, D.C..
Like many immigrants, I arrived with determination, a strong work ethic, and a belief that if I worked hard enough, I could build the life I envisioned. Looking back, I often say that while I chose DC, DC also chose me. It became the place where I would discover my purpose, build my career, and ultimately find my calling.
Over the last 15+ years, I have built a career in real estate and property management from the ground up. I started in entry-level roles and worked my way through the industry, gaining experience in leasing, compliance, affordable housing, operations, asset management, and leadership. Throughout my career, I have managed portfolios ranging from small residential properties to large multifamily communities, supervised teams, improved property performance, and helped owners maximize the value of their investments.
Education has always been important to me because I believe knowledge opens doors. While building my career, I earned degrees and certifications Hospitality, Business, Real Estate and Accounting. These accomplishments were especially meaningful because they represented years of balancing work, life, and education while remaining committed to my long-term goals.
The passion that drives me most is advocating for people who are often overlooked when it comes to one of life’s most basic necessities: safe, clean, and dignified housing. Everyone deserves a place they are proud to call home. Throughout my career, I have worked with companies that focus on conventional and affordable housing communities and these experiences have reinforced my belief that housing is more than a building it is stability, security, opportunity, and dignity.
Today, I am the founder of Sade & Co. Portfolio Management | Asset Advisory, where I help property owners and investors improve their assets while also creating better living environments for residents that are being housed. My philosophy is that successful property management is about more than collecting rent or maintaining buildings. It is about balancing the needs of owners with the well-being of the people who call those properties home.
The journey has not always been easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I have faced setbacks, disappointments, and moments that tested my faith and resilience. Yet those challenges taught me some of my greatest lessons about leadership, perseverance, and purpose. They reminded me that success is rarely a straight line, it is often built through perseverance, humility, and the willingness to keep moving forward..
Today, as a proud Trinidadian immigrant, I remain committed to serving people, creating opportunities, and making a meaningful impact wherever I can.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My biggest challenge was believing in myself.
For far too long, I doubted my own abilities, even when my experience, education, and accomplishments said otherwise. I think many people, especially women, can relate to that feeling of waiting until they’re “ready” or waiting for someone else to validate what they already know. Looking back, I spent more time questioning myself than I should have.
As a young Black woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, there were moments when I felt I wasn’t taken seriously. I often found myself having to work harder, know more, and prove myself repeatedly before being given the same level of credibility that others received automatically. Those experiences were frustrating, but they also fueled my determination to continue learning, growing, and showing up confidently.
Another challenge has been learning to trust God with tomorrow instead of trying to control it today. By nature, I am a planner. I like structure, goals, and knowing what comes next. But life and entrepreneurship don’t always work that way. Some of my greatest lessons have come from learning to release control, embrace uncertainty, and trust that every step doesn’t have to be visible for the journey to be worthwhile.
Today, I understand that confidence isn’t the absence of fear it’s moving forward despite it. The challenges I faced taught me to trust myself, trust my faith, and trust the vision that has been placed on my heart. Every obstacle has helped shape not only the businesswoman I am today, but also the woman I am becoming.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
If it’s in you, trust it. Full stop.
For years I looked for validation from other people when everything I needed was already inside of me. The gifts, vision, purpose, and calling that God placed within me didn’t need permission from anyone else. Once I learned to trust what was already in me and stop waiting for certainty, I started moving differently. Some of the biggest decisions of my life came from trusting that inner knowing and having faith that God would guide the rest.
