Meet Elizabrth of Maryland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabrth.

Hi Elizabrth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story began by helping my children with their art events and later promoting their work in the visual arts and tattoo industry. What started as family support became my introduction to the world behind tattooing — marketing, client communication, studio flow, setups, scheduling, and the client experience.

Eventually, my daughter encouraged me to begin my tattoo apprenticeship. I was nervous, but she reminded me that I had always loved to draw. During that season, I remembered how much easier my own routine became years earlier when I had my brows and eyeliner done with permanent makeup Back in California.

That was my turning point. I realized I did not want to become another tattoo artist. I wanted to specialize in cosmetic tattooing / permanent makeup and help other women experience that same confidence.

I invested in my education, trained out of state in full-face permanent makeup — brows, lips, and eyeliner — and began practicing intensely while continuing to support the studio. As my confidence and clientele grew, I eventually became so busy with clients that I transitioned into doing permanent makeup full-time.

Today, after more than a decade in the industry, I have continued investing in my education through updated certifications and advanced trainings to stay at the forefront of permanent makeup and cosmetic tattooing. I have performed thousands of procedures, trained approximately 100 students through one-on-one and small group programs, and had the honor of serving clients from the DMV area, other states, and even a few from other countries who were looking for my technique and expertise. My work is especially known for natural-looking permanent makeup and corrective work, helping women restore, soften, or improve previous results so they can feel more confident in their own skin.

The journey was not always easy. After several attempts, mistakes, and lessons, I realized that talent alone was not enough to grow a business. As the beauty industry and technology continued to evolve, I had to learn better strategies and systems to manage, organize, and improve my own studio.

In 2024, I received the Six Figure Beauty Boss Award at PMU World Live, a recognition that represented years of dedication, faith, consistency, and growth.

Today, as the founder of Beauty Ink PMU Studio, a PMU Master Artist, and Mentor, my mission is to help women feel confident in their beauty while helping other professionals grow through real experience, stronger skills, and better business structure.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges in my journey was realizing that talent alone was not enough to build a sustainable business.

In the beginning, I was learning everything at the same time — the artistry, the client experience, the operations, the marketing, and the responsibility of building something from the ground up. I had to invest in my education, practice with discipline, build confidence, and learn how to earn trust one client at a time.

There were also moments when life pushed me before I felt fully ready. I went from supporting the studio behind the scenes to becoming the artist, the service provider, the business owner, and eventually a mentor. That required faith, courage, consistency, and a willingness to keep growing through every season.

As the beauty industry continued to change, I also had to learn better strategies and systems to manage my business, organize my time, follow up with clients, and create a more professional experience. Those challenges shaped me into the artist, small business owner, and educator I am today.

They taught me that success in this industry is not only about doing beautiful work. It is about resilience, structure, continued education, and having the vision to build something that can truly last.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is centered around cosmetic tattooing and permanent makeup, specializing in natural-looking brows, lips, eyeliner, lip neutralization, and corrective work.

At Beauty Ink PMU Studio, I am known for creating results that look soft, balanced, and customized to each client’s face, skin tone, and lifestyle. My goal is never to make permanent makeup look harsh or overdone, but to enhance each woman’s natural features in a way that heals beautifully and feels true to her.

A major part of my expertise is corrective permanent makeup. Many clients come to me after previous work needs to be softened, reshaped, neutralized, or restored. This type of work requires experience, patience, honesty, color theory, and a deep understanding of how pigment heals in the skin.

I am also a PMU Master Artist and Trainer, and I am proud of the trust I have built with both clients and students over the years. I have performed thousands of procedures and served clients from the DMV area, other states, and even a few from other countries who were looking for my technique and expertise.

What sets me apart is the combination of artistry, technical experience, corrective knowledge, and real studio experience. Whether I am working with a client or training another artist, my goal is always the same: to create confidence through work that is thoughtful, refined, and built to last.

What are your plans for the future?
For the future, I am focused on expanding the impact of my work with more intention, structure, and purpose.

My priority is to continue elevating Beauty Ink PMU Studio as a trusted space for natural-looking permanent makeup, corrective work, cosmetic tattooing, and a beautiful client experience. I want every client to feel cared for, understood, and more confident when she leaves.

I am also growing my training and educational programs for beauty professionals, with a deeper focus on helping artists build not only strong technical skills, but also confidence, structure, and a clearer vision for their careers.

One of the bigger moves I am working on is creating systems and resources for beauty entrepreneurs. After years of building my own studio, I understand how overwhelming it can be to manage clients, follow-up, marketing, operations, and growth while still doing the work you love. My goal is to help more beauty professionals simplify their business, reduce manual work, and build with more clarity.

This next chapter is about growth, but also alignment — serving my clients with excellence, supporting other artists through education, and helping beauty entrepreneurs create businesses that feel more organized, sustainable, and purpose-driven.
