Meet Jamie W. of Moment Aesthetics & Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie W..

Hi Jamie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got my start in the industry as a spa manager, where I was immersed in the world of skincare, wellness, and client experience. Through attending advanced trainings and working alongside incredibly talented estheticians, I became inspired to begin my own journey in aesthetics.
After becoming licensed, I continued building my experience in both day spas and med spas, refining my skills and deepening my passion for results-driven treatments and personalized care. I went on to further my education in the field by studying to become NCEA certified and earning my Master Esthetician credential. Eventually, an unexpected layoff forced me to reevaluate my path. Instead of seeing it as a setback, I chose to bet on myself and view it as an opportunity to fulfill a dream.
I combined my background in spa operations and management with my hands-on technical experience to create Moment Aesthetics & Wellness — a space centered around intentional self-care, and helping clients feel confident in their skin while slowing down and making time for themselves.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Fortunately, the road has been relatively smooth overall, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been challenges along the way.
The biggest hurdle was making the initial leap into entrepreneurship. It’s one thing to dream about owning a business, but it’s another thing entirely to fully commit to your passion without a guaranteed safety net. There was definitely a mental tug-of-war between choosing stability and stepping boldly into the unknown. Learning to trust myself and my vision was a major part of that journey.
Another ongoing challenge has been delegation. When you build something from the ground up, it becomes very personal — almost like your baby. It can be difficult to hand parts of it over to others and trust that they’ll approach it with the same level of care, passion, and attention to detail that you would. As the business continues to grow, I’ve had to learn that building the right team is just as important as building the business itself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Moment Aesthetics & Wellness is a wellness studio rooted in intentional self-care, results-driven treatments for anti-aging, acne, hyperpigmentation & more, and creating meaningful experiences for every client who walks through the door. We specialize in advanced skincare services and massage therapy, with a strong focus on helping clients feel confident in their skin.
One of the things we are most known for is our personalized approach. No two clients are treated the same. Every treatment is tailored to the individual’s concerns, goals, lifestyle, and overall wellness needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. We specialize in corrective and progressive treatments, while still maintaining a calming, restorative spa experience.
What sets us apart is the balance between results and care. We combine advanced treatment knowledge with genuine connection and hospitality. Clients are not just receiving a service — they are receiving education, support, and a space where they feel seen and cared for.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of creating something that feels intentional and authentic. The name “Moment” represents the idea of setting aside time for yourself in a world that constantly demands our attention. I wanted the brand to feel grounded, elevated, and welcoming while encouraging people to prioritize their wellbeing without guilt.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that we can sometimes become our own biggest obstacle. It’s very easy to overthink, wait for the “perfect” time, or convince yourself that you need to know everything before you begin. In reality, the most important thing is simply to get moving and take practical steps toward your goals every single day.
Don’t beat yourself up for not being perfect in the beginning. Every expert started as a beginner who knew nothing. Growth comes through action, experience, and repetition — not waiting until everything feels polished or guaranteed.
A quote I constantly revisit is, “Make it exist first, you can make it good later,” by Adam Grant. That mindset completely changed the way I approach business and creativity. Something powerful happens when you stop obsessing over perfection and start focusing on momentum. Shortening the gap between conception and actualization can reduce so much anxiety and self-doubt.
I also think people underestimate how far hard work, good intentions, and genuinely caring for your customers can take you. Your audience and your people will find you, but only if you’re willing to put yourself out there and get out of your own head long enough to allow it to happen.
