Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Coates.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am originally from Baltimore, and I majored in history while playing Division II field hockey at Limestone College in South Carolina. When I moved back to Maryland, I honestly had no idea what I wanted to do. I processed mortgages for awhile, then I worked online for a private investigator. I was throwing around the idea of event or wedding planning, but I had no idea where to start. On my Map app, I searched for wedding planners near my house and reached out to the planner who lived closest to me, just asking how she got into it and what it was like. Turns out she was looking for more assistants to work at weddings! After my first wedding, I fell completely in love with planning and coordinating weddings. I’ve been working for her for over a year, and just started my own company as she moved to Florida with her husband. I absolutely LOVE helping couples plan and execute the happiest day of their life!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a struggle to break into the business. There are a lot of fantastic wedding planners in Baltimore, and it’s difficult to find clients if you don’t have reviews, which you can’t have until you have clients!!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about My Beloved Weddings and Events?
I started a wedding planning and coordinating business. I help couple plan and execute their wedding dates. We meet multiple times prior to the wedding, and I collect every detail from their vision. I then attend the event and make sure that everything is set up properly and that the timeline that I created is implemented, ensuring a smooth day. The bride and groom don’t have to worry about anything on their special day! I am young and energetic, and I want to cater to every couple’s vision.
