Today we’d like to introduce you to Khristena Eulalia.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
What began as a creative outlet—designing costumes for my own performances—evolved into a full-fledged design house rooted in storytelling, legacy, and empowerment.
Eulalia Designs is derived from the first half of my middle name, Khristena Eulalia Reba Jones, a name passed down from my maternal grandmother and great-grandmother. I began creating dance costumes in my two-bedroom apartment while coaching with my alma mater’s dance team, the Howard University “Ooh La La! Dance Line.” What started as a way to save money quickly became the catalyst for turning passion into purpose.
I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Howard University, where I studied not only performance but also costume design, lighting, set design, and the technical elements that bring productions to life. After graduation, I performed professionally as an NFL cheerleader, an experience that deepened my understanding of stage presence, precision, and the transformative power of presentation.
Those experiences shaped how I approach design. I don’t just create garments — I craft stories through fabric. I understand what it feels like to stand in the spotlight, to audition among hundreds, and to rely on a costume to help tell your story before you ever say a word.
Today, Eulalia Designs specializes in custom performance wear, dance team uniforms, special occasion gowns, and statement pieces that allow artists to embody their highest selves on stage. Each design is rooted in artistry, intention, and emotional connection. My work is about more than aesthetics — it’s about transformation.
That same spirit of legacy and empowerment led me to launch EuReba Active, a movementwear brand whose name blends my middle names, Eulalia and Reba — honoring both my grandmother and great-grandmother. EuReba Active was created for women who move boldly through life — dancers, athletes, performers, and everyday women who embrace strength and elegance simultaneously.
Whether I am designing a custom costume or developing an activewear collection, my mission remains the same: to help women feel beautiful, powerful, confident, and fully expressed in their bodies.
At its core, my journey has always been about art, movement, and purpose — weaving imagination into fabric and turning garments into experiences.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road — but every challenge has shaped me into a stronger creative and businesswoman.
When I first launched Eulalia Designs, I had a full-time job and no children. The primary challenge then was managing growth. Demand began to increase, and because custom garment construction is extremely labor-intensive and detail-driven, the workload quickly became overwhelming. Long hours, meticulous craftsmanship, and balancing a corporate schedule required discipline and endurance.
Today, my challenges look different.
I’ve been fully self-employed for the past three years, and I’m now raising a spirited toddler while expanding my company and launching a new brand, EuReba Active. I no longer have the safety net of a 9-to-5 income. Entrepreneurship now carries full financial responsibility, creative direction, production oversight, marketing, and leadership — all while navigating motherhood and what I like to call the “Tenacious Twos.”
Building one business is demanding. Growing one while launching another requires vision, faith, and strategic risk.
To sustain that growth, I’ve had to evolve from being solely a designer to becoming a true business owner. I’ve invested in industrial machinery to streamline production and protect my time. I outsource specialized tasks to independent contractors, including pattern makers, web designers, photo editors, and local seamstresses. For EuReba Active, I’ve partnered with manufacturers to support scalable production while maintaining quality and brand integrity.
One of the biggest lessons has been learning to build support systems rather than trying to do everything myself. The fact that I am now in a position to invest in help and infrastructure is a testament to how far Eulalia Designs has come.
The road hasn’t been smooth — but it has been purposeful. Every obstacle has required me to level up, refine my systems, strengthen my resilience, and believe bigger.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I don’t just design garments — I design moments. Moments where a woman looks in the mirror and sees power and beauty instead of insecurity. Moments where movement feels seamless and effortless. Moments where confidence becomes embodied.
I am the founder and designer behind Eulalia Designs and EuReba Active. Through Eulalia Designs, I specialize in custom performance wear, dance costumes, bridal gowns, prom dresses, and statement pieces that are engineered to move as beautifully as they photograph. My garments are extensions of the wearer. Fabric is never just fabric — it carries story, emotion, and intention. I simply interpret what is already inside of them and translate it into form. I’m known for making garments that are timeless, accentuate natural beauty, celebrate curves, and shine without overshadowing the wearer. Regardless of who my client is, my goal is always the same: for my clients to feel beautiful, confident, and be powerful beyond measure.
In the early years, I balanced a full-time job while building my company at night and on weekends. The work was meticulous and labor-intensive — sacrificing sleep, leisure time, working into the wee hours of the morning, and pushing myself beyond limits. But seeing my clients genuinely feeling beautiful on prom night, glowing on their wedding day, sparkling under stadium lights, or captivating an audience as their costume accentuates emotion — is what drives me.
EuReba Active was born from a deeper evolution. I didn’t want to just create athleisure; I wanted to build movementwear. Pieces that feel buttery soft yet supportive. Flattering yet functional. Eco-friendly yet enduring. Intentional in every seam. EuReba represents a merging of two worlds: dance/fitness and design. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted to sculpt, support, and elevate every stretch, spin, and stride.
What sets me apart is that I understand both artistry and structure. I am a performer and creator. I understand the intricacies of garment construction, what dancers need to elevate their performance, how to celebrate the beauty of a woman, and what an athlete needs to power through a workout.
I’m most proud of my grit, resilience, and determination. Balancing entrepreneurship, motherhood, trusting God, and the gifts HE’s given me. For me, creativity isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about walking my purpose — boldly, intentionally, and with impact.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
My “why” is simple and deeply personal. I love making beautiful things because I’m good at it — it’s one of the clearest gifts I’ve been given, next to my love and passion for all degrees of Fine Arts. I work best when I have creative autonomy, when I can build freely, and when my vision isn’t confined. Designing isn’t just what I do; it’s how I navigate through the world. It’s how I serve.
Becoming a mother expanded that purpose. I am creating more than garments — I am building a legacy. I want my son to grow up seeing what it looks like to walk boldly in your gifts, to create your own opportunities, and to trust the vision placed inside of you. Every late night, every risk, every investment into my craft is rooted in that long-term vision.
